About Cancer Antibodies Inc

Cancer Antibodies Inc. is a small 501(c)(3) non-profit cancer research foundation. We are focused on using novel methods to identify unique antigenic sites on cancer cells.

Our Mission

Our goal is to cure cancer, with minimal or no side effects. Virtually all cancer treatments are toxic to both cancer cells and normal cells. The result is the treatment becomes a race between killing the cancer and killing the patient.

This new method involves using the immune systems, of animals that are of a different species than the animal that has cancer, to create antibodies against the cancer cells. The antibodies are used to locate unique cancer-specific sites on the cancer cells. These sites are not possessed by the normal cells of the animal that has cancer. The cancer-specific sites are then used as a target for agents that will kill the cancer cells without affecting the normal cells, resulting in minimal or no side effects.

In our proof-of-concept experiments we used human breast cancer cells. The method is applicable to any cancer.

Our Founder

Elliot Davis PhD Biophysics/Molecular Genetics

Dr. Elliot Davis is a retired professor of Biophysics and Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University at Buffalo.

He is one of the pioneers of modern speech recognition and holds the landmark patent (https://patents.google.com/patent/WO1989005015A1/en) in pattern recognition/error reduction. The patent was licensed to AT&T and Lucent Technologies. The technique was originally developed by Dr. Davis to help the handicapped automate their environment.

Dr. Davis has been the recipient of numerous grants and contracts, he has also done work for the FBI and the Defense Department in the area of automatic pattern recognition.

After retiring, Dr. Davis founded a non-profit foundation, Cancer Antibodies Inc, dedicated to Cancer Research that focuses on a novel method (patent pending) that he created for identifying unique sites on cancer cells.

Below is an PBS special on Dr. Davis’ early work with the Cerebral Palsy Association.
